I have known Sarah almost her whole life and when her mom called me to do her Senior Pictures I just couldn't wait. She's such a sweet kid and I adore her. We spent some time in the little town of Sewickley and then over to the fields. Isn't she beautiful?

Jojo's session was so much fun! It's always helpful when the parents can chauffer us around, that way we don't have to wait for everyone to park and we can be more spontaneous! Of course, I plan my sessions pretty much down to the minute, but I do like to have some wiggle room for some unexpected shots. We got a few of them during Jojo's Session. When Aaron's mom called me and told me that they would like to have Aaron have some of his Senior Pictures with his Cello, I immediately envisioned them at this location wearing a suit. I was so happy when he agreed to wear the suit :) Afterwards we went to the Cathedral of Learning and then over to Panther Hollow. I was thrilled with how everything turned out and so was Aaron and his parents. Here are a few of my favorites....

We originally did Luke's senior pictures at McConnell's Mills but about 15 minutes into his session it was raining, knowing that the rain wasn't going to end any time soon, we had to reschedule. We decided to go to the little town of Harmony for his makeup session. I'm so glad we did because I really liked the images we captured in Harmony. It was a great night. We decided to go to Oakland and take some by Schenley Park, Flagstaff Hill, Phipps and then to the Cathedral of Learning. It was a fun evening getting to know them and their parents.

A few years back I photographed Darius' older brother at his session Darius and their little sister came along. I remember them be so nice and helpful to their older brother while he was getting his pictures taken. I often discourage too many people coming along for the session...it can be distracting for the senior, but these two were great! For Darius' session he knew exactly what he wanted, he scouted some spots in the Southside that he liked and I added some that I thought would fit his vibe. I think between the two of us, we found some amazing spots and got some great pictures. I love when the Seniors have their own vision and I can help bring it to life.

I photographed Ellen's brother a few years back and I was excited when Ellen's mom called about her Senior Pictures. It's always fun to see the family again. When discussing Ellen's session we had originally decided on a different location but after going to a Family Friend's house they fell in love the property and decided they'd love to have her pictures done there, so we did! I arrived early to scout it out and come up with a plan, the property had a beautiful path through a thick forest of trees, lots of flowers, an old chicken coop and a field....my heart sung when I saw it!

I did Lukas' brother's Senior Pictures a few years back, he picked the Southside and Mount Washington and we got some great shots of him. His mom called me about Lukas' Senior Pictures and he also wanted an urban type setting. After going over some possible options we settled on the North Shore. A few years back I took Brandon's Gorgeous older sister's senior pictures...she was actually the first senior I ever photographed and I was hooked, we had so much fun and I knew this is what I wanted to do!

Now it's Brandon's turn, Brandon suffered most of his life with life threatening food allergies, not just one or 2 foods but Brandon was allergic to a lot of foods (thankfully he grew out of a lot of them). The reason I tell you this is because Brandon at a young age started Brandon's Best Allergen Free Treats. He makes delicious baked goods that are free of most allergens and he's sold them to grocery stores and other small businesses. When discussing Brandon's session he really wanted a picture with his new BMW and with his Hockey stick because at 17 he bought this himself, with the money he made from his business and refereeing! How awesome is that?! So proud of how he turned out, he took a bad situation and turned it around to be a profitable business at such a young age!

So back to Brandon's session...we went to the Strip District and the North Shore of Pittsburgh - we thought the Strip District and North Shore would offer the backdrop we were looking for. His session turned out great!!!

Bianca was a natural in front of the camera...her mom suggested she pull her hair up in a bun for a few pictures and boy am I happy she did! Look how gorgeous she looked with her hair up with her black dressy romper! I love to do a mix of dressy and casual pictures moving to different locations and different posing to give your session some variety. She really had fun at her session and it shows!

It has been forever since I blogged! But I'm going to play catchup and show some of these beautiful Senior and Family sessions that I've done over the last year.

First up, Abby! Abby was in the last class to graduate from Vincentian Academy (my alma mater!) so I was excited to photograph a fellow Royal! We went to the beautiful Hartwood Acres mansion and then down to the stables for some more casual shots. I love going to two locations that are very different from each other so you can get two different feels to your session. Abby has such a classy Audrey Hebrurn look. When Gabby's mom contacted me to do her Senior Pictures, I was really excited because her dad and I were friends when we were younger and it would be fun to see him again and meet his family! Gabby wanted her pictures to tell her story, she loves the Pirates and she loved going to the Water steps when she was a little girl. Gabby is a cheerleader at Avonworth High School and she really wanted some pictures in front of the Fountain at the point....and she loves Flamin' Hot Cheetos - haha, so we added them in! So we incorporated all things Gabby and I feel like we hit a home run! We had a great time and I'll remember that night for a long time. Tyler's mom contacted me to do his Senior Session...she is actually our local pharmacist! Over the years we have become friends so it was fun to do this session with her and her son. Tyler just wanted to get a few pictures, mostly for his mom but by the end of the session, he said he really had fun...hmmm...I don't think I've had a Senior that has said otherwise! Tyler is off to Robert Morris University, my Alma Mater, he is going to study Sports Management and Sports Broadcasting! I'm excited to see what is in store for him next!

Marissa is just a gorgeous girl, she really wanted something "Rustic" for her Senior Pictures...like creeks and fields and flannel...done! As usual, I had a blast customizing her session, JUST FOR HER. Mom wanted some traditional pictures, so we went to Sewickley and did some formals...then I found a cute little creek that I thought would be perfect for Marissa!!! I was so excited! After that we stopped at a cute field and then to a very high hill so we could do something interesting to commemorate her years as a dancer...so we decided on a fun silhouette! Loved it! Marissa is off to West Virginia University to study Nursing...how exciting!

I love planning Senior Sessions! I like to find out what their interests are and then go from there. Dyllin really loves his awesome Audi TT (who wouldn't right?) and he wanted some pictures with his car and also his adorable Golden Retriever, who quickly won over my heart! (Anyone who knows me, knows I have a special place in my heart for Goldens!) His mom really wanted cool pictures of Dyllin that had an urban feel. The morning before I got the call to do Megan's Senior Pictures, I was thinking how awesome it would be to do a Senior Session with someone with a horse. Then I started thinking about how I could make it happen. That afternoon, Megan's mom called me to schedule her Senior Pictures, I about fell off my chair when she said that they would like to have her horse Elliott in them! Needless to say I was totally excited about this session and envisioned exactly how I wanted her pictures to turn out...the water tower...well that was just a pleasant surprise! We had a great time and I loved working with Megan, her Mom and of course her horse Elliott! My business is connecting me with so many amazing families...I feel like this exactly where I'm supposed to be!

Cort and Courtney were engaged on a Friday night and we did their Engagement Pictures the next evening. They are not from the Pittsburgh area and were planning a wedding in 2 months! It was awesome to see a couple so much in love and excited about just getting engaged. We started off at Schenley Park and then went to Schenley Plaza and around the University. It was a beautiful evening for a beautiful couple!

I met this family at Frick Park for our Family session, about 15 minutes into the session it began to rain and by rain, I mean pour, down, rain, with no end in sight...we did the best we could but we decided to pick another night and finish their session. We ended up with so many gorgeous images, they picked numerous portraits for their walls and I was so excited to see where all their gorgeous portraits would be displayed. I feel so blessed to meet so many wonderful families at my "job".

The most rewarding part of my job is to meet awesome families and create memories that will last a lifetime and beyond. These two girls were both adopted from China by two different families. Their parents met on the long flight over to meet their new little girls and the parents instantly bonded and became great friends. And the girls... well, they are like sisters! I had such a great time capturing their evening together and I left with lots of hugs from both of them.

I had such a great time capturing this little guy's First Birthday Portraits and Cake Smash! Since Mom and Dad looked so nice we even got a few of the 3 of them! He is such a sweet and happy guy and I hope to see him again and watch him grow.

This sweet little family was given a gift certificate from their friends for a Newborn Lifestyle Photo Session. I was excited to meet them after I spoke to the mom-to-be a few times before their baby girl was born. When I arrived at their home I could see AND feel how much they loved their sweet baby girl. From Daddy telling her she's too pretty to cry to mommy calming her quickly when she would whimper. I truly feel like I left this home feeling the love, the peace and the happiness that was present. I wish them every blessing and from what I can see they already have the biggest one....LOVE.

A Night at the Bay

This is a dear friend of mine and her lovely family. We met in college and have been friends ever since even after many miles have been put between us. This little girl was absolutely adorable during her "mini" session. Her mom wanted some Fall photos and when trying to pick a location I had her ask this sweetheart where she would like to do them...She said the pumpkin patch! I thought that was a great idea! So off we went. It was a beautiful evening and we all had a good time!

I've known this family for several years and was honored when they asked if I would do their Family Photos this year. They wanted fun...nothing stiff and that was just up my alley. It was a bit chilly but we made it through and captured some lovely images that I hope they will cherish for years to come.

I started my career photographing this family. She was as cute as a button at One year old and is even more adorable a year later! Her infectious laugh kept me going. The love this family has for each other is evident. She is one lucky girl! Mom wanted a location that had a rustic feel and lots of fall leaves...we decided on Hartwood Acres Trails and Stables. It was a beautiful evening to capture this adorable family .

The University of Pittsburgh...it's where it all began....

Katie and Zack met when they were Sophmores at the University of Pittsburgh and they have been together ever since. While they were visiting Pittsburgh for a wedding they contacted me to take their Engagement Portraits. We were lucky, we got one of the most beautiful fall days this year...thankfully. The level of comfort I could feel from these two was instant, you could tell they were meant to be together...as Forrest Gump said "they were like Peas and carrots", I imagine they were like that from the beginning. Congratulations and I hope you have the same beautiful weather in October for your Wedding day!

When speaking with this family about what they wanted for their family pictures, they told me that they live in a Victorian home and that pictures that would have that "look and feel" is what they wanted. It immediately came to me that we had to go to Hartwood Acres Mansion! I felt the location would definitely give them the images that would fit perfectly in their home. We had a great time and I think we captured some beautiful images of them together.

I was contacted by this family to document an evening of their family just being together...just them... strolling along the family property, swinging on a tire swing, and swinging over the beautiful pond, making bunny ears and laughing....it was a beautiful evening and you can just see how much they all love each other. I was happy to be a part of their special evening together.

My daughter picked this costume for Halloween and has been dying for a photo session to wear it! We always try to do fun photos for the different costumes she gets...it will only be a matter of time before she has no interest in dressing up, so I'm taking advantage of it now! She picked this dress because she is writing a period piece about a girl named Elsa Armington who lives in London, England in the year 1889. My daughter loves to become the character she is writing about complete with accents and clothing. It's always an adventure around here! Life is never boring, that's for sure!
